I'm curious about anything and everything that involves thinking. I also enjoy a lot of things that don't require thinking. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with a Minor in Quant Finance from the College of Engineering Pune. I'm interested in working on topics in computer vision, robotics, machine learning, remote sensing and math.

During my engineering days, I was part of the COEP Rowing Crew and I participated in the 94th and 95th Regattas. Falling into the Mutha river right on the warf is one of my achievements. I rarely write Computer Science blogs on Medium. For fun blogs visit here. In my free time, you will find me reading Japanese newspapers or writing Kanji in a square notebook. Nonetheless, I am equally bad at both. Occasionally, I also enjoy climbing mountains and listening to classical music.

Cool Stuff

  • On C++ "There are only two kinds of languages: the ones people complain about and the ones nobody uses."Bjarne Stroustrup
  • On Computer Science "Computer Science is no more about computers than astronomy is about telescopes."SICP, Abelson and Sussman
  • Stigler's law states that no Discovery is ever actually named after the first person to discover it. Appropriately, Stephen Stigler was not the first person to notice this (it was Robert Merton, though doubtlessly someone else noticed before him too) and so the name "Stigler's law" is an example of Stigler's law.Stephen Stigler
  • Addition to Hilbert's Slogan "We must know. We will know. But the truth is we do not know."Math's Fundamental Flaw, Veritasium
  • On Familiarity "It took me some time to realize why I keep coming back to this place. To the attendant, in her spectacles, and face-mask. To the small enclosure contained within those four walls with their white paint tearing up in some places. To the servers, with their plates, and to the food topped with Ghee. I was looking for a word, a feeling to explain this behavior. I know what it is now. Familiarity."Ghee Sakhar, by Mihir Jain
